Kaulquappen test:

Kaulquappen, or translated Tadpoles, are spherical Terran ships with a diameter of 60 meters. They are used as parasite craft for larger spaceships. With taking over the ships design from the Arkonids, the Terrans also took over the class of ultralight-cruiser. Tadpoles are ships of the official class GOOD-HOPE.

Note: De term ‘ultralight-cruiser’ was first used in Traversan 2, published 1998. Before that GOOD HOPE-class was used. “Kaulquappe” is first used in PR 16

History

De first Terran ship of this type was a parasite craft Perry Rhodan took over from the AETRON, which had crashed on the moon. Back then the ship was noted for a torus with engine mounts, giving it an acceleration of 500km/s², and a small jump drive with 500 lichtyears of range. This was too short to let it return to Arkon. When the ultrabattleships of the GALAXIS-class were developed, starting with the CREST III, the old Tadpoles were completely redesigned with all new tech and from 2404 on these new versions were called Corvettes.
